We are delighted to introduce you to Executive Chef Andrew Camm. Chef Camm, Executive Chef at the Silverbirch Hotels and Restorts, began his unofficial culinary career at a young age, watching and working with his parents in the kitchen. At 12, he took matters into his own hands as a “prep-cook,” completing most of the food preparation for the family’s evening meal. “All of the children in my family had duties, mine was to start dinner,” recalls the Truro native.
Chef Camm began his university career in 1983 at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish. Graduating in 1988, he earned a Bachelor in Sociology with a minor in English. However, rather than continuing in this field, Chef Camm decided to pursue his real passion: the culinary arts.
He joined the Delta family in 1993 as Second Cook at the Delta Barrington (currently known as The Barrington Hotel). He was promoted to Sous Chef, while simultaneously earning his Red Seal Certification.
Chef Camm enjoys the social side of his work but also has a serious, community-minded side.
A man who can seriously multitask, Chef Camm will be representing both Tempo and the Halifax Harbour City Bar & Grill!
