2024 is the 22nd Anniversary of the fundraiser for children!

20th Anniversary

For 21 years, with the patronage over 10,000 attendees, restaurants, and celebrity guests, Blind Date With a Star has raised well over $1,000,000 dollars, helping to fund the vital needs of children in our community.  This year is no different with 100% of the 2024 Blind Date With a Star proceeds supporting the important Youth and Child Caring program that Chisholm Services for Children provides for children ages 12 and younger.

Chisholm has three main programs:

#1: The residential program for children under the age of 12 who face severe circumstances like neglect and abuse, to a realization of self-worth.

#2: A community-based literacy program for children from primary to grade six who are reading below grade level or who have been diagnosed with a learning difference.

#3: Chisholm also provides a monthly group session for parents who have been approved to adopt by the Department of Community Services and waiting to welcome a child into their home.

Chisholm gives children a safe home and helps them develop skills and capacities to function successfully in a community and grow as healthy, stable individuals ?


The gala event will start on February 27th, 2024 at 5:30 when we will gather at the Grafton Connor Properties complex (next door to the Five Fisherman restaurant at 1740 Argyle Street) for a champagne reception.  There will be prizes, an exciting live auction, and a mystery pairing with your tables own celebrity host for the evening.  Then your table of 7 guests will be off to a fabulous restaurant next door to have the ultimate four course dining experience.

FIRST COURSE: CAULIFLOWER VELOUTÉ - Cauliflower, crab fritter, kale

SECOND COURSE : SALMON GRAVLAX TARTARE - Cranberry & anise cured, Cape d’Or salmon, crème fraîche, cucumber gel, seed cracker

THIRD COURSE: BRAISED SHORT RIB - AAA short rib, carrot butterscotch, brussels, parsnip, mustard & sherry jus

FOURTH COURSE: Cookies & Cream – Dark Chocolate Ganache, Cookie Crumb, Vanilla Mousse, Raspberry Gel
